George Floyd and Derek Chauvin: these two names are forever historically/spiritually linked as a tragic inhumane injustice, because justice is a spiritual concept, and without a God conscience justice cannot ever prevail.

Where’s the humanity? One by one, witnesses described the horror which unfolded before their eyes, watching a white monster kill a Black man in front of the entire world as time slowly ticked for nine minutes and 29 seconds.

“Be His Legacy” George Floyd internship at Texas A&M

The George Floyd Memorial Foundation, founded by the family of George Floyd, and the Texas A&M University-Commerce African American Male Mentorship Program (AAMMP) have partnered to create the “Be His Legacy” internship program. Scheduled to launch in January 2021, this two-semester, groundbreaking initiative will provide hands-on equity experience to AAMMP students through community outreach and targeted educational programs. 

Chuck D continues to speak truth to power

ROLLING OUT — Even as a mentor in rap, Chuck D continues to put in work behind the mic. In 2017, Public Enemy released the album Nothing Is Quick in the Desert and they are preparing to release their 14th studio album this summer, Loud Is Not Enough. Chuck D is also a member of the group Prophets of Rage, which features members of Rage Against the Machine and Cypress Hill. And he recently formed a group called Night Train with Speech from Arrested Development and Daddy-O of Stetsasonic.

One North Carolina City Council Approves Reparations – Sort Of

NNPA NEWSWIRE — “Hundreds of years of Black blood spilled that fills the cup we drink from today,” said Councilman Keith Young, one of two African American members of the City Council that voted 7-0 in favor of reparations. It is simply not enough to remove statutes. Black people in this country are dealing with systemic issues.”

My Daddy Changed the World!

Gianna had the 6-year-old smile of Ms. America and Ms. Black America. She was held close to the bosom of her ridiculously beautiful mom. I do not care if her statement was rehearsed or not. From the mouth of a babe, the statement became a clarion call for resistance to evil, especially when evil is cloaked under a blue suit and a vow to serve and protect.
