Author transparency

News reports, analysis and commentary should carry a clear byline or appropriate newsroom attribution. Regular writers should be connected to an author biography and archive so readers can learn about their role, background and published work.

Trust & Transparency

Our Editorial Standards

Accuracy and Verification

We work to verify names, dates, locations, quotations, documents and other material facts before publication. Information should be supported by reporting, public records, direct statements or clearly identified reliable sources.

Attribution and Sourcing

We clearly attribute information obtained from agencies, organizations, documents, interviews, news releases and other publications. Direct quotations and material derived from outside reporting must be appropriately credited.

Original Reporting

We prioritize interviews, analysis, public records and community reporting produced by AframNews journalists and contributors. Rewritten or aggregated material must add meaningful context and identify its sources.

Opinion and Contributed Material

Opinion, commentary, press releases, sponsored material and contributed stories must be clearly distinguished from independently reported newsroom journalism.

Photography and Visual Media

Photographs and visual material should identify the photographer, agency, organization or source when applicable. AI-generated or materially AI-altered visuals should be labeled for readers.

Conflicts and Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made in the interest of readers. Advertising, sponsorships and commercial relationships do not determine news coverage. Material conflicts of interest should be disclosed when relevant.

Corrections & Updates

Accuracy is an ongoing responsibility.

When a significant factual error is confirmed, AframNews will work to correct it promptly. When appropriate, the article will include a correction or update note explaining what changed.

Minor spelling, grammar or formatting changes that do not alter the meaning of a story may be corrected without a separate notice.

Paid advertising, sponsored content and contributed material should be clearly labeled. Advertisers and outside organizations do not receive undisclosed control over independent newsroom coverage.

AI-assisted content

Technology, including artificial intelligence tools, may assist with functions such as transcription, research organization, editing or production.
