Local journalism is at the heart of African American News & Issues.
We believe important stories are often found within neighborhoods, churches, schools, businesses, community organizations and local institutions.
Our newsroom works to highlight the people and issues shaping Houston’s African American community while providing readers with timely information about developments throughout the region.
We are committed to covering stories that may receive limited attention from larger national media organizations and providing the cultural and historical context necessary to understand their impact.
