Across the Americas presents photography and photo-related work from Latin America and Latino communities in the United States. The exhibition reflects FotoFest’s longstanding commitment to connecting Houston audiences with artists, histories, and ideas from across borders.
Organized around four themes—Image and the Constructed Self; Memory, Archive, and History; Place, Territory, and Transformation; and Experimental Worlds: Concept and Fiction—the exhibition considers how the 69 artists included use photography to examine the past and present, construct identity, register changes in place, and imagine new possibilities.
We invite you to experience Across the Americas at Silver Street Studios and join us for the public reception on Saturday, October 10, from 2 to 5 PM.
Presenting an exhibition of this scope requires sustained research, relationships with artists and lenders, careful installation, and a commitment to public access. Annual Fund support makes every part of that work possible.
As we work toward our $60,000 Annual Fund goal, your gift helps FotoFest bring significant photographic art to Houston and connect our city with a wider cultural conversation.
