Houston Texas | November 15, 2018 –  “Education is an investment in the future.” Every child regardless of family income or circumstance, has the right to a quality education.  Financial barriers should never be a  deterrent from attending college.

The Greater Houston Frontiers Club, Inc. a non-profit, 501(c) (3), service organization is one of the most well-respected organizations in Houston, honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., while providing scholarships for deserving minority students in our community.  Their efforts continue to make a positive  impact and open doors for our future leaders to be successful and continue in the footsteps of Dr. King.  The organization continues to provide much needed  assistance for our young people in the Greater Houston area. The Greater Houston Frontiers Club’s membership is composed of committed African-American male and female volunteers, who are determined to give something back to the community.

On Monday, January 21, 2019, the organization will host it’s 31st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Breakfast; which will contribute to their scholarship initiatives. This annual event will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center.  The Keynote Speaker will be Ryan C. George a graduate from Morehouse College and current employee of Google.  Honorary Chairs for the event are Warren and Britne Broadnax The CEO of She’s Happy Hair, GGB Trucking, Happy Me Tee and She’s Happy Foundation.  During the breakfast, the prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award will be presented to Carla Lane ~ CEO of Lane Staffing.

Since the inception of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Breakfast the organization has awarded over $1.2 Million in scholarships to students in the Houston-Harris County area.  Dr. King’s legacy reminds us of the importance of passing the torch to the next generation by providing scholarships for education, celebrating diversity and remaining steadfast in our commitment to service.
