Freedmen’s Town becomes Houston’s first Heritage District
Mayor Sylvester Turner and Houston City Council voted to pass the Heritage District ordinance and named Freedmen’s Town as Houston’s first heritage district. The announcement coincides with the City’s observance of Juneteenth.
