What happened last Thursday night to Interim Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan was, without a doubt, racism at its finest. Now, I know for a fact it was racism. The removal of Lathan was a slap in the face. I have never in all my life seen open racism from racists as it pertains to children.

After winning the middle school state-qualifying competition held at Atascocita Middle School in February, TSA sponsor and Hoffman CTE teacher,Richard Houdek and two of his Technology Student Association Club members, Sirrianda Mbianda andBobiana Hill headed to Waco April 9th through the 11th to represent Hoffman Middle School at TSA State Competition.
Black Youth Excel in Community Math & Science Saturday School
The N’Joya Weusi African Centered Saturday School is a 5-week program for ages 8-16 year old youth in the Greater Houston area. The children are collectively taught right-brain mathematics, science and cultural projects in a unified setting.
Community Meeting
The year 2015 marks the 80th birthday of Aldine ISD. Over the past 80 years the district has grown to almost 70,000 students and is projected to keep growing at 3% per year for next 5 years. The buildings in Aldine ISD average 30 years in age. Many of the buildings are much older.

The “Building Bridges” forum created an open dialogue surrounding tenuous relations between police and youth.“It gives us more understanding of what’s going on, and how they look at us and how we look at them, so they know,” Bria Jones, one of the teens who led the dialogue, said.
