Harvey Legislature Moving Out
This week marks the halfway point of the 86th Legislative Session. Hurricane Harvey devastated the Gulf Coast more than a year and a half ago. Hundreds of thousands in Houston were impacted with the loss of vehicles, homes and prized irreplaceable possessions.
Black Business Day At The Capitol
The Texas Association of African American Chambers of Commerce (TAAACC) hosted “Black Business Day at the Capitol” on Monday, March 25, 2019. The annual event draws attendees from chambers of commerce and business owners from across the state. For the third year, the members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity hosted their “Omega Day at the Capitol” in conjunction with TAAACC.

He is ranked number three of his class, is the president of his senior class, is the Vice President for National Honor Society, and is a part of the golf and rocket team, and was Homecoming King for the school year. These are just a few of the many great things that Cleveland Shepard, IV, who is a senior attending Booker T. Washington High School has been doing throughout his high school journey.
Rest Lawn Receives Marker
The Harris County Historical Commission (HCHC) has recognized the Rest Lawn Cemetery as a significant part of Texas history by awarding it a Harris County marker. The designation honors the cemetery as an important and educational part of local history.
