We proudly share our history —

Preserving stories that might otherwise fade and curating experiences that immerse you in the enduring legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and the wider Black military experience.

But it’s important to us that you also see the heart behind our work, and that you understand our passion, our purpose, and the community we are committed to serving.

That is why, this year, we are campaigning to show you who we truly are:

Because the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum has never only been a place to look at the past. We are a museum — and so much more:

A place shaped by people, guided by service, and

where community is at the center of everything we do.

Our event this weekend offers a powerful example of that commitment.

On Saturday, we will gather with partners and volunteers for our Veterans Community Resource Fair — providing meals, hygiene kits, and support to those who have given so much. Events like this further illuminate our mission. We aim to show what it looks like when history leads to action, and when a museum steps into its role as a community partner.
