Our heroic approach has been to primarily concentrate on the heroes and heroines that have carried the torch. Truly, Martin, Malcom and Ms. Rosa Parks are towering figures, but there are tens of thousands of unknown and unsung titans that have changed the course of history.
U.S. Postal Service to Review Stamp Honoring Supremes Florence Ballard
NNPA NEWSWIRE — In the past, there have been U.S. Postage Stamps to celebrate the lives and accomplishments of several music business legends, including Elvis Presley, Sarah Vaughn, Patsy Cline, Jimi Hendryx, Marvin Gaye, and Janis Joplin. Supremes member Mary Wilson’s quest to get the U.S. Postal Service to issue a stamp to celebrate Florence Ballard, a founding star of The Supremes, has gained momentum.
