Simone Biles to Open New Restaurant in Houston’s Bush Airport

Olympic champion Simone Biles is set to make her mark in the culinary world with the launch of Taste of Gold, a new restaurant at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. The restaurant, scheduled to open in early 2025, will be located in Terminal A, near Gate A8. This venture marks a significant move for Biles, known for her extraordinary achievements in gymnastics, as she transitions into the hospitality industry.

Partnering with The Playmakers Group and restaurateur Mark Brezinski, Taste of Gold aims to provide travelers with a luxurious yet approachable dining experience. The menu will feature a mix of comfort food with a gourmet twist, reflecting Biles’ personal tastes and her Houston roots. Inspired by her own love for food, the dishes will have a Tex-Mex influence, a nod to the region’s rich culinary culture.

The restaurant is expected to elevate the airport dining experience, offering travelers a unique blend of award-winning, signature dishes in a stylish setting. For Biles, this project symbolizes more than just a business venture. It’s an extension of her excellence-driven philosophy, something she has consistently demonstrated throughout her athletic career. Now, she is bringing that same commitment to quality and creativity to the restaurant scene.

With approximately 46 million passengers passing through the airport annually, Taste of Gold is poised to attract a diverse range of visitors. The Houston native expressed her excitement about contributing to her hometown’s airport, aiming to offer a world-class dining experience that aligns with the high standards of the airport itself, which was ranked among the world’s top dining destinations in 2024.

Biles continues to set new benchmarks, and this restaurant is another example of her ability to excel in multiple arenas. Taste of Gold will not only provide travelers with a premium dining option but also reinforce her growing influence outside of sports. As construction progresses, anticipation is building for this new addition to the airport, which is set to open its doors in the first quarter of 2025.

As September 13th rolls around, we extend our warmest birthday wishes to the creative powerhouse, Tyler Perry, a man whose indomitable spirit and groundbreaking work have left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment. With his multifaceted talents as an actor, playwright, screenwriter, producer, and director, Tyler Perry has not only entertained but also inspired audiences worldwide, particularly within the African-American community, where his influence and role have been nothing short of powerful. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1969, Tyler Perry’s journey to stardom was a path riddled with adversity. Despite facing numerous challenges, including rejection and financial struggles, Perry’s determination and unwavering belief in his abilities propelled him forward. In 1992, he staged his first play, “I Know I’ve Been Changed,” which, although met with limited success, was a pivotal moment in his career.
