Maryland Governor Wes Moore Vetoes Reparations Study Bill

Governor Wes Moore, the only Black governor in the U.S., vetoed a bill that would have established a commission to study and recommend reparations for Black descendants of enslaved people. Moore cited Maryland’s economic struggles and the urgency to focus on recovery from federal budget cuts as reasons for his decision.
