City of Glenn Heights Congratulates Mayor Sonja A. Brown on Statewide Leadership Role

GLENN HEIGHTS, TX – The City of Glenn Heights congratulates Mayor Sonja A. Brown on being named President of the Texas Council of Women School Executives (TCWSE), a statewide organization dedicated to advancing women in educational leadership across Texas. Mayor Brown officially assumed the presidency on Saturday, January 24, 2026, following the organization’s annual conference.

 

TCWSE represents women leaders from school districts across the state and serves as a professional network focused on leadership development, collaboration, and impact. As President, Mayor Brown will guide the organization during the coming year under the theme Take Flight: Claim Your Power. Elevate Your Impact.

 

In her presidential address, Mayor Brown emphasized the importance of opportunity, inclusion, and collective leadership. “The future of TCWSE is rooted in access for all,” Brown said. “It is about welcoming voices from every corner of experience and ensuring women leaders are prepared to rise together.”

 

Mayor Brown brings more than a decade of experience in public education to the role. She currently serves Lancaster Independent School District, where her career began as a substitute teacher before advancing to positions in the district’s Central Office. Over the past 10 years, she has held roles including Communications Specialist and now serves as the district’s Government Affairs Coordinator, supporting district leadership and fostering relationships with elected officials and community partners.

 

In addition to her professional work in education, Mayor Brown is serving her second term as Mayor of the City of Glenn Heights. Her leadership at both the local and statewide levels reflect a deep commitment to public service, collaboration, and community advancement.

 

Mayor Brown’s selection as President of TCWSE reflects her continued commitment to leadership, service, and professional excellence. The City of Glenn Heights is proud to see its mayor represent the community at the state level while contributing to the advancement of women in educational leadership across Texas.
