HOUSTON – Recently, Friends of Beulah Shepard Legacy under the direction of Diane Shepard and Etta Crockett, hosted their Annual Acres Homes Legends Essay Contest at the Houston Public Library (Beulah Shepard-Acres Homes Neighborhood Library).
Students from varying schools throughout the community submitted essays on their respective influential leaders from Acres Homes. Submissions were received from students of all grades. African-American News & Issues was so impressed by “Our Youth”, that we decided to let you read some of the submissions for yourself!
S/O to: every participant, the Friends of Beulah Shepard Legacy, every parent, family member, neighbor, instructor, and/or administrator who took out time to embrace “Our Youth” and help to empower “Our Community.”
