Suburban Sugar Land Women (SSLW) & Phenomenal Partners recently hosted their 37th empowering and engaging “College Send Off” for SIX high – achievers, full-time, enrolled, scholarship recipients. Scholarship criteria: January – June, applicants are required to serve in person or virtually via SSLW’s various projects. June 1-30,applicants submit online: complete and accurate application, recent head-shoulder photo,jpeg, unofficial transcript, documentation that an official transcript has been requested, receipt of an official transcript, one letter of reference from university or high school staff, one letter of reference from a community service organization, essay – 200 words or less, bursar’s form, and official documentation of fall, 2026 full – time enrolled at a university. Online application & bursar form accepted June 01-30 annually.
Recipients’ attendance required July 18 at College Send O via recipient’s RSVP, attend, and hand – deliver three written thank you to hosts. USPS mailed and received hand – written thank you to the organization by July 31 or before. Required attendance at Holiday Check In, December 14, 2026, 6:30 – 8:00pm, hosted by Ms. Jeanie Robins. College Send Off Off is a celebration of excellence in service, leadership, and academics! e Amazing Allens were the hosts – Ms. Theresa Allen-Murray, Ms. Belinda Allen & Dr. Margaret Allen. Ms. Alisa Lewis – Laddie was the Mistress of Ceremony. She opened with warm welcome, greetings, introductions, and the importance of giving back; Mable Scott Austin, Founder & Lifetime Partner gave the prayer; Ms. Jeanie Robins, Vice President, Programs shared words of wisdom and presented each scholarship recipient a beautifully wrapped laundry basket filled with personal care items, school supplies, cleaning items, and spiritual literature. Dr. Margaret Allen and Ms. Tomika Laddie each donated gi cards to each recipient. Words of Wisdom were also given by Ms. Belinda Allen, Ms. Theresa Allen-Murray, Ms. Alisa Lewis – Laddie, Dr. Margaret Allen, & Ms. Mable Scott Austin. Jeanie Robins presented three beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers and gi ft card to hosts.
SSLW Phenomenal Partners – Ms. Theresa, Ms. Belinda, and Dr. Margaret prepared and served a most delicious gourmet meal: craw-fish etouffee, fried fish, fried chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, fresh green beans, lemonade punch, and pecan pie. Everyone has a marvelous time of lively celebration, engaging conversation, photo session, gi fts, and delicious food at the elegant home of Dr. Margaret Allen, Owner, Amazing Smiles Dental Spa in Sugar Land and Houston. Caeli Bridges, (2024 Marshall High @ Fort Bend ISD) junior at Lamar University- majoring in nursing. Tiara Luckey,(2023, Lamar High School, Houston ISD) senior, Lamar Universitymajoring in speech and hearing sciences; Tatiana Nwosu (2024 Ridge Point High, Fort Bend ISD) sophomore, Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts -majoring in interactive media and game design; and Myah Williams, (2019 Honor Graduate, Dulles High School, Fort Bend ISD; 2022 Honor Graduate, Howard University); and third Year, Doctorate, Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry! ONE ( 01) 2026 FIRST – TIME SCHOLARLSHIP RECIPIENT Brielle Perry, 2026 Crawford High School, Fort Bend ISD honor graduate plans to attend Sam Houston State University in the fall, 2026 and major in nursing. Phenomenal Partners in Attendance: Dr. Margaret Allen; Ms. Belinda Allen; Ms. Theresa Allen – Murray; Ms. Alisa Lewis-Laddie; Ms. Jeanie Robins, and Mable Scott Austin. 2026 goal is to raise $37,000 for 37 years of selfless service.
“PARTNER” donates $300 – $25,000 annually to bene ts programs & scholarships. “FRIEND” donates $10 – $299 annually for programs & scholarships. SSLW is solely funded by private contributions. 100% of your donation bene ts programs and scholarships. We do not receive any state or federal funding, and we are not a United Way agency.
