Congressman Al Green’s Statement on Federal Court’s Ruling Eviscerating Houston’s Minority Business Program

Al Green Addresses Possible Cover-Up in Federal ICE-Related Investigations, Calls for Impeachment

Congressman Al Green released the following statement regarding the recent federal court ruling eviscerating the City of Houston’s Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprise Program:

Congressman Al Green stated, “I trust that the city will appeal the court’s decision declaring the inclusion program to be unconstitutional. This was a hard-won victory that many of us fought for to enable capable, competent, and qualified minorities to benefit from tax dollars to the same extent that majorities have enjoyed since the founding of the city. This court decision should remind us that C.A. Tindley was right when he proclaimed (paraphrased by me), “Harder yet may be the fight.” Right may often yield to might, wickedness awhile may reign, and Satan’s cause may seem to gain, but there’s a God that rules above with a hand of power and a heart of love. And when I’m right, that God will help me fight. Harder yet may be the fight.”
