50 years ago, The Ensemble Theatre’s Founder, George W. Hawkins, had a vision to create a theatre that focused on themes of Black life and expand professional employment opportunities for actors of color while providing theatrical education opportunities for the entire community.
50 years later, The Ensemble Theatre proudly continues George’s vision, with endless stories that chronicle Black life, preserve African American artistic expression, and represent the essence of the millions of Black minds and voices that are an integral part of not only theatre, but the American experience.
The Ensemble Theatre warmly welcomes everyone to join us in celebrating 50 years of art and legacy, as we proudly unveil our new Season-
50 Years: One Vision, Endless Stories
