The National Baptist Convention of America (NBCA), representing 3.5 million African American Christians, traces its origins to foreign missions. Its mission is to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission through structured systematic religious education, domestic and international missions, and the publication and distribution of religious literature. A key goal of the National Baptist Convention, USA (NBC, USA) is to equip pastoral leaders and institutional churches to carry out The Great Commission work of Jesus Christ effectively through strong institutional churches and Christian programs.
Above all, the primary purpose of NBC, USA is saving souls, because: “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptations, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief.” (1 Timothy 1: 15). Lest we forget ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Therefore, had it not been for the Lord on our side where would we be, because: “Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:8).
Congratulations to Dr. Max A. Miller, senior pastor of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and president of the Baptist Ministers’ Association, on his election as president of the National Baptist Convention, USA. Inspired by his uncle, Pastor J. J. Roberson, Dr. Miller has advanced the programmatic ministries of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and the Baptist Ministers’ Association. Under his pastoral leadership, Mt. Hebron has improved its modern gym complex, family and community life center, food pantry assistance program, and refurbished its 30-unit apartment complex for low-income families. Dr. Miller now brings this Godly commitment of Christian service and economic empowerment to the national level. Houston, Dr. Miller knows how to sing the Lord’s song and do His will in the name of Jesus. Once again, Dr. Miller, congratulations and God’s choice blessings to you and yours.
