Mayor John Whitmire joins community leaders to break ground on Trinity East Village Senior
New affordable housing community will help Third Ward seniors age in place
Houston Mayor John Whitmire will join The NHP Foundation (NHPF), Trinity East Village Community Development Corporation (TEVCDC), Housing Alliance HTX and other civic and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of Trinity East Village Senior, a new 90-unit affordable housing community for adults age 55 and older in Houston’s historic Third Ward.
The development represents a major investment in preserving affordability, preventing displacement and ensuring longtime residents can remain in the community as the neighborhood continues to evolve. Sixty of the apartments will serve as replacement housing for Cuney Homes residents through the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative, while all residents will benefit from onsite supportive services provided by Operation Pathways, the resident engagement and services subsidiary of NHPF.
