Too many unnecessary laws

America, it is impossible to legislate personal morality, because the law is no more just than those who are responsible for the administration of the law (s). Only the Holy Spirit (TRUTH) can free us from sin: lying, stealing, and killing. Sin is sin, and there are no little or big sins. As an American citizen you are privileged and entitled to experience all of the privileges/blessings of citizenship. Even though there have always been some individuals who have never embraced the spiritual/moral tenets of The Preamble and the U. S. constitution (Cain’s Children). The Holy Spirit frees US from sin and eternal condemnation, and: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8: 1-4). Free-will is a spiritual principle of GOD, and no man or legal system can destroy a principle of God. This is why Roe V. Wade was an unnecessary law, and no male should seek to morally regulate a woman’s body. There are no laws regulating the pleasure principle of the bodies of males. The Jewish people had (613) Hebraic manmade laws and they could not abide by their own laws created for themselves. Moses had a spiritual encounter with God on Mount Sinai, and God reduced the (613) manmade laws to the Ten (spiritual) Commandments; even though sin waxed exceedingly. Jesus reduced the Ten to Two, and they cannot live by the TWO GREAT COMMANDMENTS. God always gives the word (TRUTH), and this is why we have had tremendous calamities such as: Noah and the Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah, the battle of Jericho, and […]

Preparing for Coming Changes

By: Dr. John E. Warren While many are watching developing court cases and the treatment of Blacks and people of color as both victims and perpetrators in the judicial system, we must not lose sight of the coming changes around us designed to both distract and disable. I speak specifically of the following: (1) the redistricting or redesigning of all the Electoral Districts in the United States, based on the 2020 Census; (2) the new Voter Suppression laws in over 22 states restricting voting hours, locations, and conduct while waiting to vote; (3) the local campaigns against Critical Race Theory resulting in the removal of books in school libraries and restrictions on how issues of race can be taught; and (4) a very close look at all people running for office in 2022 and where they actually stand on the issues just mentioned. The Conservative Right, with all its Trump supporters, is counting on low voter turnout as a result of the above-mentioned restrictions. They are also putting those who are in agreement with them in key positions within each state’s vote count and certification process. The greatest weapon we have is our ability to engage the process at every level. We must now start serious voter registration; we must now look very closely at the new electoral boundaries and changes in all districts, from Congressional Districts to State Legislative, County, Municipal, and School Board Districts. We must start now and begin looking at the impact of these proposed changes. In some cases, it is already too late to engage the Redistricting Commissions for final changes. Many of these commissions sought to use the internet as a substitute for outreach and citizen engagement in the process. Many of these commissions, both here and around the country, were appointing and stacking the commissions even before the Bureau of the Census released its report. As a result of those activities, we must now engage in the five “P’s” if we, as the potential victims, are to overcome the “changes”. The “P’s” are: Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. We must start planning now

The beloved lies about America

White supremacists love their narratives of America. They spoon feed it to their children and force feed it to people of color. When Francis Scott Key penned the lyrics for “The Star-Spangled Banner” in1814, stating that America was the “land of the free and home of the brave,” he crafted a stirring image of goodness and virtue. Who wouldn’t love and admire such a homeland? But these high-minded sentiments were written by a racist and proponent of chattel slavery for Black Americans. Most disturbingly, the third verse of this song that would become America’s national anthem, proposed a particularly horrible fate for the once enslaved African Americans who were then fighting for the British in the War of 1812. “No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror or flight, or the gloom of the graves.” These words were a clear call to slaughter people of color who dared to challenge the authority of white Americans. America was never the land of the free. Just ask the descendants of the multitudes of the enslaved who had every manner of inhumane abuses handed to them. Or just ask the families of innocent and unarmed Black and brown men and women who have been gunned down in great numbers across America by police in recent years. This is the factual history that is woven into our culture, and this is the reality with which we live every day. But now, there is a movement afoot by white supremacists to gaslight not only Americans of color, but the entire world that these injustices do not exist, and never did exist. One particularly blatant example was the political maneuver by Virginia’s Republican Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin when he claimed that he would ban Toni Morrison’s book “Beloved” from Virginia’s public schools. This attack by Youngkin on a book, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 and was written by the 1993 winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, was clearly intended to be a loud dog whistle to the white supremacists whose votes he was courting. Youngkin’s campaign dug up a

Political Party Base Politics

It is extremely difficult for Americans to hold a positive view of the future because of “Base Politics.” When a political party is entrenched in its own selfish mindset; not democracy, but autocracy America has a BIG, BIG GOVERNANCE PROBLEM. When the GOP will not discipline its own members; but will allow members to publicly display ungodly behaviors in the citadel of democracy (The Capitol), America will have a BIG TROUBLE. To add insult to injury the GOP has no democratic policy objectives that are universally oriented for the people, by the people, and of the people. Moreover, when Christian Right Evangelicals and White Nationalist Groups use the political tools of gerrymandering and restricted voting procedures/laws seeking to deny minorities their Civil Rights then democracy is in big trouble. America you cannot change ungodly mindsets that are oriented toward White Privilege exclusion. Moreover, from previous experiences we know: “that you cannot convince a fool against his will,” because: “Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.” America, we cannot change the mindset of Christian Right Evangelicals, The GOP, and White Nationalist Groups, because they are who they are, what they are, and will remain so until they come into the light of the TRUTH, because: “If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”  The Democratic Party has too many voices speaking. Too many voices speaking at the same time creates confusion. God is not the author of confusion, but peace. Democratic Party Officials and Members are listening to too many News Commentators rather than listening to Official Party Leadership. News commentators sensationalize for ratings (salaries). Everyone is not an official elected leader in the Democratic Party; but everyone’s voice should be heard, not necessarily acted upon. Democrats need to speak boldly and with spiritual clarity to all Americans who believe in democracy, and presently it appears as though that’s only Democrats. President Biden should speak universally to political leaders of all persuasions

Blacks, Veteran’s Day and Critical Race Theory

By: Dr. John E. Warren Veterans Day was created as “Armistice Day” on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. It became a national holiday by an act of Congress in 1938. As we honor the memory of those who served in this great conflict, separately and apart from other occasions honoring our War service members, let us not forget the special struggles of Black Veterans, especially during the years following World War I. We have seen from history that African Americans who fought for the freedom of others on distant shores, came home to disenfranchisement, segregation, and subhuman treatment on every front where they should have received respect and equality for having served. We have seen from a historical point that a Black soldier named Charles Lewis, recently discharged from the military, was lynched in uniform in Hichman, Kentucky; in 1944, four Black soldiers after a white store owner claimed they tried to take over his place; in 1947, we repeat how Joe Nathan Roberts, a Black Navy Veteran, studying at Temple University on the G.I. Bill was abducted and shot because he wouldn’t say “Sir” to white men. What is so important about these stories today is that if “Critical Race Theory” is allowed to be implemented on the scale white legislatures and school boards are trying to do, to sanitize all discussion of America’s racist past, these stories will be lost along with the racist history they represent. Let us not forget that we have over 99 African American servicemen who earned and received the Medal of Honor in battle, fighting, and in some cases dying for a country who would only honor them when the flag was draped over their coffins and taps played at their graveside. It is up to us to remember and honor our own, in spite of what this nation does or how it seeks to change or erase the history that we bled and sacrificed to build. Yes, this Veterans Day, let’s remember our own; and not by running out to catch the latest sales.

Normalizing abnormality

Prostituting the truth is abnormality to the nth degree, because when individuals prostitute the truth they normalize abnormality and deviancy (sin). Christian Right Evangelicals, The GOP and White Nationalists Groups have become skilled professionals at normalizing the abnormal (lies, exclusion and sin) for White Privilege, because they desire something for nothing. Prostituting the truth is prostituting one’s self, and the devil has become the master of your being. Such individuals will do any and everything abnormal; even destroy the cornerstone of democracy (The Vote) by attempting to make the votes of minorities null and void, because of skin-color. Question: are Senators Manchin and Sinema wolves in sheep clothing? American democracy hangs in the balance on the answer to this question, because when (48) out of (50) Senators are in agreement on democratic principles, policies and programs, and ungodly thinking obstructs the principle of majority rule something is drastically and radically wrong! Democracy oriented Americans; we need to get to the bottom of this issue quick and in a hurry before it is too late, because the flaw in American democracy has always been: White Privilege/White Supremacy. No God conscience individuals are always asking the question: “what’s in it for me?” (Hebrews 11: 6) provides us with the answer: “Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” That’s what in it for you, because individuals do not live forever.  Believing that God exists is only the beginning; even devils believe that God exists. God will not settle for mere acknowledgement of his existence. God desires your faith and personal relationship with him, because: “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Christian Right Evangelicals cease lying to yourself in your ungodly attempt to make wrong, right by normalizing abnormality, because the Bible declares: “Let

The System

Question: is something better than nothing? Compared to what is the question of questions? The system works for the system, and the system is influenced by White Privilege on both sides of the isle. The only way the federal government can effectively work for all Americans is that all Americans are included regardless of race, creed or religion. Racism is a spiritual sickness. It exits on both sides of the political aisle, and penicillin is not the cure. The USA needs a ”come to Jesus moment”, because: “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved.” Only GOD can save US from US! Unfortunately, there was no penalty exacted upon The Southern Confederacy for withdrawing from the Union, and this why we have had a perpetual Civil War resulting in the events of January 6th, 2021. Sadly, once again we had American Trumpism (The Big Lie) fighting against American Democracy. America, we need a “National Reconciliation Spiritual Moment” that is grounded in democracy, because: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  To say and do nothing is evil, because: “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.” Sadly, it is this same Dixiecrat Mentality which caused Southern States to withdraw from the Union and is currently creating governance confusion in America’s socio-economic-political structure (Democracy). America, know this: “There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.” President Lincoln knew that “A nation divided against itself cannot stand”; even though, Vice President Johnson was a Southern Dixiecrat he believed in the Lincoln Doctrine. Christian Right Evangelicals, The GOP and White Nationalists Groups and many Democrat Sympathizers take heed: “Righteousness exaltheth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”  White Privilege oriented Whites (military-industrial-international-complex) are willing to spend trillions of dollars on warfare (killing), but not willing to spend a similar amount helping

It’s too early to unconditionally forgive

Did you pay attention to the supremacy sneer of the face of Derrick Chauvin as he suffocated the life out of George Floyd? It was a domination mug shot. It was a mug shot of resident evil where evil powers and principalities dwelled, rather a body that had been possessed and evil powers found a home. We should not unconditionally give Chauvin forgiveness although the Almighty can grant forgiveness. Chauvin represents the same old gang of thugs that open the released door for Barnabus and built the gallows for Jesus. We often try to temporarily exonerate resident evil, by saying “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Our shining prince, Malcolm was on target to say, “No, they know exactly what they are doing.” History is replete with horror stories of this mob in action. The spirit of Derrick Chauvin was the spirit of Adolf Eichmann and Dylan Roof. Eichmann was instrumental in 11 million being killed and Roof was the sick young white Neo-Nazi man who coldly executed nine at Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina. All were sick white supremacists that were under the control of the great adversary. All have expressed NO REMORSE, totally unapologetic. He partook of the Sunday School lesson with the pilgrims and then sent them to glory. Remorse is a part of redemption and forgiveness. Have you heard that Eichmann, Chauvin or Roof went to the mercy seat and prayed the Sinners Prayer? Have they sent messages of regard to the victims’ families? Quit giving this gang a pass. The Jews never forget. Though a war criminal is 100 years old and hiding in South America, soldiers and litigators gather and prosecute him for crimes against humanity in the interest of justice and peace. The day of hell, the day of insurrection was meticulously planned by this gang of so-called patriots. They were chomping at the bits to kill Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Al Green. Now they are pretending to be altar boys and Boy Scouts. Eight to 10 innocent people

Socio-economic pathology in America

Politics in American society is no longer about public service and servant leadership but has become selfish self-service. Sadly, the political culture of The GOP has devolved into Southern Dixiecrat Autocracy. This sad state of political affairs has taken American society to the other side of fear of power sharing; looking for something for nothing, White Privilege. Too many Americans have forgotten what is ultimately important in any society; especially a democratic society! Individuals can acquire money; even acquire a powerful position of leadership authority, but it means absolutely nothing without a personal relationship with GOD (TRUTH). Therefore, in all of you’re getting: “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and in all thy getting get understanding.” Hence, without a personal relationship with God (TRUTH); individuals are capable of doing any and everything under the sun. Thus, such individuals should to go to the nearest police station, and vehemently request to be locked-up, because I am insane and capable of doing anything. Evidently our polarized two-party-system apparently has elected too many greedy pathological individuals who have no God conscience to high political offices, and now we are reaping the whirlwind. Apparently, these individuals think that they are going to live forever! Shame, shame on Christian Right Evangelicals and The GOP (The Party of Abraham Lincoln), because they should know better, and if you know better you ought to do better. Likewise, in the Democratic Party one or two self-serving individuals is one too many, because we all know that one bad apple can spoil the entire barrel. Life is about priority ordering. Priorities are values. Ultimately, what individuals place their hope and trust in is an expression of their faith. Thus, hope is an expression of comfort, expectation, confidence and trust. This is why godly Americans can hope that White Privilege oriented Americans who are lost in selfishness and self-service realize the error of their ways, and cease looking

“We the People”: The solution to our problems

By: Dr. John E. Warren While a great deal of time and attention is being given to the many sins and acts of evil by Republicans and the Ultra Right who believe that their privileges are greater than our democracy, it is important to remember that “We the People” hold the keys to our own deliverance. There are more of us than them as evidenced by the last election which placed President Joe Biden in the White House instead of a second term for Trump. The Bible says “we  have not because we ask not, and when we ask, we ask for the wrong things”. Lawrence O’Donnell, an MSNBC Commentator, recently pointed out that “we” are responsible for Donald Trump being able to appoint three judges to the U.S. Supreme Court. As he indicated, it started when we, the democrats, didn’t bother to vote in past presidential elections that allowed the Regans, the Bushes and the Trumps to be in position to stack the Court with conservative right wingers. You will remember that when Trump was running against Clinton, the Christian Right and Ultra Conservative Right were not concerned with his sexual sins, only having him in position to appoint judges to the Highest Court in the land because it would influence policy for decades to come. Now the ball is back in the court of “We the people”, if we choose to take it. We the people out number the conservative Ultra White element that would end democracy. We the people, whether Democrat or Independent, have sufficient numbers to out vote any conservative wave and laws of voter suppression are now being put on the books. It was this kind of voter turnout that elected two Democratic U.S. Senators from the State of Georgia, in spite of the Trump effort to undermine the voter turnout of the state. When we look at the characters that are holding the U.S. Senate hostage and refusing to live up to their oath to “Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States”, then we have an obligation to organize and vote them

October 16, 2023, HOUSTON, TX – Congressional Candidate Amanda Edwards has raised over $1 million in less than 4 months, a substantial sum that helps bolster the frontrunner status of the former At-Large Houston City Council Member in her bid for U.S. Congress. Edwards raised over $433,000 in Q3 of 2023. This strong Q3 report expands on a successful Q2 where Edwards announced just 11 days after declaring her candidacy that she had raised over $600,000. With over $829,000 in cash-on-hand at the end of the September 30th financial reporting period, Edwards proves again that she is the clear frontrunner in the race. “I am beyond grateful for the strong outpouring of support that will help me to win this race and serve the incredible people of the 18th Congressional District,” said Edwards. “We are at a critical juncture in our nation’s trajectory, and we need to send servant leaders to Congress who can deliver the results the community deserves. The strong support from our supporters will help us to cultivate an 18th Congressional District where everyone in it can thrive.” Edwards said. “Amanda understands the challenges that the hard-working folks of the 18th Congressional District face because she has never lost sight of who she is or where she comes from; she was born and raised right here in the 18th Congressional District of Houston,” said Kathryn McNiel, spokesperson for Edwards’ campaign. Edwards has been endorsed by Higher Heights PAC, Collective PAC, Krimson PAC, and the Brady PAC. She has also been supported by Beto O’Rourke, among many others. As September 13th rolls around, we extend our warmest birthday wishes to the creative powerhouse, Tyler Perry, a man whose indomitable spirit and groundbreaking work have left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment. With his multifaceted talents as an actor, playwright, screenwriter, producer, and director, Tyler Perry has not only entertained but also inspired audiences worldwide, particularly within the African-American community, where his influence and role have been nothing short of powerful. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1969, Tyler Perry’s journey to stardom was a path riddled with adversity. Raised in a turbulent household, he found refuge in writing, using it as a therapeutic outlet. This period of introspection gave rise to one of his most iconic creations, Madea, a vivacious, no-nonsense grandmother who would later become a beloved figure in Perry’s works, offering a unique blend of humor and profound life lessons. Despite facing numerous challenges, including rejection and financial struggles, Perry’s determination and unwavering belief in his abilities propelled him forward. In 1992, he staged his first play, “I Know I’ve Been Changed,” which, although met with limited success, was a pivotal moment in his career. Unfazed by initial setbacks, Perry continued to hone his craft, and by 1998, he had successfully produced a string of stage plays that showcased his storytelling prowess.
