Gucci has issued an apology for selling a sweater resembling blackface and pulled it from stores. The black turtleneck-style sweater features an opening with a pair of bright red lips that can be stretched around the wearer’s mouth.

Miami, FL — Lowell Poitier Jr., a 35-year old unarmed Black man, was almost thrown to the ground when a police officer punched him in the face during an argument because he apparently felt threatened. A video of the incident was released by a fellow police officer, who is now demanding to be under whistle-blower protection.

Baltimore, MD — Jacquelyn Smith, a 52-year old woman from Baltimore who stopped her car to give some money to a homeless woman and her baby, was stabbed to death by a man nearby. Officials are warning people to be more cautious of what seems to be a rampant crime nowadays.

Nationwide — Cyntoia Brown, a woman from Tennessee who was 16-years old when she killed a 43-year-old man who solicited her for sex, must serve at least 51 years in prison before she would be eligible for release, the Tennessee Supreme Court has decided.

Stephen Mader, a white police officer from the Weirton Police Department who was fired after deciding not to shoot a Black male suspect, has filed a federal lawsuit against the department and won a settlement for wrongful termination last February.
