Barbara Faye Wilrich was born March 31, 1927 in Montgomery, Texas to Tommie Ward and Angie Hatchett-Ward. She attended school in the Montgomery County Public School District until 1941 when her family relocated to Houston in the Acres Home area
Herbert Winston Johnson was born on August 8, 1946 to the union of Herbert and Katie Mae Johnson in Houston, Texas. He received his formal education from George Washington Carver High School in Houston, Texas.
On December 23, 2013, the life Tiffany Adams once knew was never the same again. After a tragic car accident that left Tiffany a double amputee, she had to find her purpose in life again.

Boy Scout Troop 212 has been in the community since 1947. It originated in Third-Ward when it was predominately white, but over the years the culture changed into a much more diverse and well established financial Black community.
Johnnie Mae Brooks-Dale Thompson was born September 17, 1925, to Nettie Eddin and Leon Walter Brooks at 3401 Stonewall St., in 5thWard. They had one 3-year old daughter, Lois Marie. The family lived across the street from Gregg Street Presbyterian Church.

Mabrie Memorial Mortuary has continued efforts to support the Houston community. Prior to the students of Attucks Middle School going on holiday break, Mabrie sponsored an educational field trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
In closing out the holiday season, I thought on this scripture in reference to the United States. Curiosity caused me to wonder, “What would happen if the WORLD issued a decree that every immigrant was to be taxed to return to the country of his or her descent?”
