Jasmine Crockett Slams GOP’s “Big Ugly BS Bill” in Fiery July 3rd Showdown

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett isn’t backing down.

On July 3, the outspoken Democratic representative from Texas took direct aim at the latest Republican-led legislative push—referring to it bluntly as the “Big Ugly BS Bill”—and cast her vote firmly against it.

The bill, which bundled multiple conservative priorities including tax breaks for the wealthy, further restrictions on abortion access, and deep cuts to federal aid programs, drew instant backlash from progressives. But it was Crockett’s unapologetic language and full-throated statement that turned heads both inside the Capitol and across social media.

“This bill is nothing more than an attack on working people, women, and common sense,” Crockett said in a video posted to her official platforms. “It’s big, it’s ugly, and yes—it’s straight BS.”

The nickname “Big Ugly BS Bill” quickly went viral, with hashtags like #BigUglyBS and #CrockettClapback trending online as supporters praised her candor.

Crockett’s opposition is part of a larger pattern where she’s established herself as a no-nonsense voice willing to call out what she sees as hypocrisy and injustice—often with the same fire she brought as a civil rights attorney before entering Congress.

Despite not holding a formal leadership position on the Oversight Committee (a role she recently withdrew from), Crockett continues to be a powerful voice on national issues, especially those disproportionately affecting Black and working-class communities.

“I don’t care how they dress it up,” she added. “If it’s trash, I’m gonna say it. Period.”

With 2026 elections on the horizon and murmurs of a possible Senate run, Jasmine Crockett’s July 3rd stand might be remembered not just as a vote—but as a defining moment in her rise to national prominence.
