Free Attendance Event to Bring Art, Remembrance, and Community to Downtown Houston on Saturday, November 1
Houston, TX — Houston’s 5th Annual Día De Los Muertos Parade & Festival Presented by Reliant will return to Sam Houston Park on Saturday, November 1, transforming downtown into a vibrant, living tribute to loved ones who have passed and to the city’s powerful cultural identity. The free, family-friendly celebration will run from 4:00–10:00 PM, with the parade stepping off at 7:00 PM.
“The heart of this year’s celebration is remembrance,” organizers said. “This is about honoring those we love while highlighting Houston’s rich cultural heritage — brought to life through art, music, and community.”
The 2024 festival will feature a city parade with community ofrendas (altars of remembrance), live music and cultural performances, local food and concessions, the return of the Catrina Contest, a powerful performance of La Llorona alongside a visual memorial of loved ones submitted by Houston families, and a finale built to get the entire park on its feet.
Core festival activities are free and open to the public. Some areas will have limited capacity.
