On Monday, August 3, 2026 our Lord and Savior called Rankie Mae Jackson Johnson “Tee” into eternal rest.
Tee’s story began May 31, 1927, when Tom Jackson and Mabel Randolph Jackson, welcomed their daughter “Tee” (as we would all come to know her) into the world. Tee grew up in Acreage Homes, Texas where she attended Highland Heights Elementary, Phyllis Wheatley High School and Wiley college in Marshall Texas.
Tee’s professional career consisted of several industries: performing administrative duties at the Pentagon, in Washington, DC, during World War I!. As a pioneer for Blacks in the banking industry by securing a position with Texas National Bank. And later, Tee studied in California to become a Certified Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
The area, Acreage Homes, experienced limited community resources. Tee’s social consciousness mo- tivated her along with the support of family to open a neighborhood grocery store and decades later that store was converted into a laundry mat providing another needed service for the community.
Tee’s civic duties included volunteering her time and efforts to the Acres Homes Community Chamber of Commerce and the Holly Hall Community center.
Tee was baptized as a child and became a lifetime member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, and before her transition to be with the Lord, Tee held the honor of being the oldest member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Tee’s hobbies were baking, playing the piano and organ and traveling with her brother Odell and sister Sarah to Hawaii and several cruises to Jamaica.
Tee loved God, Church and Family. God rewarded her with 99 joyful years and she has inspired four generations of nieces and nephews
May our beloved Rankie Mae Jackson Johnson “Tee” rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
