$200K Grant Granted to Historic Olivewood Cemetery

Olivewood Cemetery, Houston’s first incorporated African American burial ground (est. 1875), has received a $200,000 grant from the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund. The funds will aid in preservation efforts, governance structure, and community engagement to safeguard the site against neglect and urban encroachment.
