HOUSTON – Jared Artmore, a sophomore Pre-Pharmacy major from Beaumont, was named by Texas Southern University as a Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar. His scholarship was announced June 12, live on the Tom Joyner Morning Show as part of the Tom Joyner Foundation School of the month program.
Artmore, who desires to continue to expand his knowledge in the medical field, has a 3.64 GPA. A member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Thomas F. Freeman Honors College and the Urban Academic Village, Jared still finds time to be a tuba player in the Texas Southern University Wind Ensemble.
You might ask how can he do all these things. It may because of the motto that guides his life: “Never give up.” But, he also gives credit to his parents, Kenneth and Valerie Daigre who have had the greatest influence over his life.
In case you missed it, you can hear the complete broadcast at http://www.tjms.com/stream/. Gatlin’s Hercules Scholar profile will also be posted online at http://tomjoynerfoundation.org/.
