HOUSTON- It has to be a worldwide understanding that African-Americans are some of the biggest spenders in the world. Estimating about 1.1 trillion dollars in our buying power by 2015 according to the Neilsen report, African Americans will have enough money to be the 16th largest country in the world. Unfortunately, we are not conscious of our buying power, because our money is constantly going out to support other businesses instead of our own. In order to reconstruct the flow of how our dollar is spent, www.givebackbuyblack.com has created an initiative to start the process of changing our statistics in our community.
Some of the initiatives include:
~We are committed to pick 3 different businesses a week that are Black owned, and we will purchase from that business.
~We will select a business every other Saturday, and we will purchase something from that business. Business will be selected & promoted on www.givebackbuyblack.com the week before.
~We will purchase our groceries from a Black/African Owned grocery store minimum once a week.
~Every 3rd weekend of the month, we are committing to ONLY purchase from Black/African owned Stores/Businesses./Services. (Friday, Saturday,Sunday)
We understand that if we follow this initiative with extreme discipline we can change our statistics., therefore change our world.
