Rep. Al. Green Addresses the Democratic National Convention

HOUSTON- Rep. Al Green addressed the Democratic National Convention along with his colleagues, Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, and Rep. Karen Bass.
Rep. Green began his address by leading the entire convention in chants of “USA, USA, USA.” He ended the chant declaring, “I am proud to live in this great country.”
Rep. Green spoke on the importance of strengthening the middle class, faith, and the reelection of President Barack Obama. He emphasized that the struggle to maintain and expand the middle class is not only the key to moving our country forward but also a moral imperative. “Our faith tells us we have a moral obligation to better our communities, to accept responsibility and care for each other,” Rep. Green said. “But these values are not just unique to believers, they are American values, and this is the American way.”
