HOUSTON – Eva Tyler Laday was born October 26, 1923, in Leonville, Louisiana to William Tyler and Josephine Thompson Tyler.
She was christened at an early age, and remained strong in her religious beliefs until her departure. She loved cooking and baking, and she especially loved preparing Thanksgiving dinners for the family.
She would bake cookies and cakes for the holidays to share with family, friends and neighbors. She loved to travel, and one of her special places to visit was Las Vegas. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wilson, and one son, Wilfred; sisters Eula Rubin, Beatrice Ranton, Louella Milburn and Louise Milburn.
She is survived by her brother, Lester Tyler of Beaumont, TX; sons, Wilson LaDay, Jr. (wife Thelma), Larry LaDay (wife Lois), and daughters Linda Laday and Deborah Lacy (husband James). Her grandchildren — Sharon, Heather and Veronica LaDay, Jason Lacy, and Eric and Evon LaDay, two great-grandchildren — Jade LaDay and Leon Scott, III, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
