HOUSTON- On April 10, 2012 protesters at the Harris County Court House connected the dots of Trayvon Martin, Robbie Tolan, Anthony Childress and other victims of police brutality in Houston and across the country. Members of the Black Justice Tuesday Coalition (BJTC) who have held a weekly protest for 63 straight weeks announced that cops in the Chad Holley beating will be in court on April 16th at 9am, in Court 174 at 1201 Franklin Houston, Texas. Chad Holley was the teenager who was relentlessly beat, kicked and stomped by members of the Houston Police Department in 2010.
On April 11th, respected Elder L. Salley accompanied by NBUF National Chairman Kofi Taharka fills out a complaint of police brutality at local Houston NAACP office. (Shown in left photo) Elder Salley reported an incident of disrespectful behavior and being pushed in his own home by a Black officer while in pursuit of a suspect. Mr. Salley said “the officer needs a psychological evaluation before he seriously hurts somebody.”
